The flute has been a part of my life since I
was 8 years old. I learned quickly and
became fairly proficient by high school. After I
experienced the realities of life as a
performing artist at conservatory I decided to
find my music satisfactions in other ways -
namely composition. My flute playing was
neglected for years except for a stint busking
in the subways of Boston.
Since getting my masters I have
rediscovered my passion for the
instrument and am gradually building
my chops back up to par. I currently
have an alto and C flute with plans
for piccolo and bass.
I play in a free improv group out of
Vancouver BC called the
Knotty
Ensemble. I also accompany my video
work with structured improvisation on
flute, Roland SP808 groove sampler,
and other loopers.
